HIA Forum 2007

The HIA Forum provides an opportunity for those with an interest in HIA to meet, share experiences, hear about new developments and consider how to progress HIA.

  • Review facilitators and barriers to progressing HIA
  • Present developments in the field of HIA
  • Showcase work in Ireland

At the session past participants were given the opportunity to discuss current HIA projects and hear about current pieces of work being undertaken across Ireland. Presentations were given by:

  • Ms Monica O'Mullane, PhD candidate and part-time lecturer
    Can HIA's influence the policy-making process in Ireland?
  • Mr Brendan Bonner - Manager, Western Investing for Health
    A personal perspective

A presentation was also given by Mr Paul Trueman, York Health Economics Consortium, who provided an overview of the recent Cost-Benefit Analysis of Health Impact Assessment report commissioned by the Department of Health, England.  A copy of the report may be downloaded here.
